What you can expect at the Mental Wellness Resource Center

The Mental Wellness Resource Center began as an idea of the San Juan County Commission. Being concerned about the mental and emotional health of San Juan County residents, they created a central location to assist San Juan County citizens. The Mental Wellness Resource Center exists to help people navigate the complex systems of housing, basic needs, emotional, mental, and behavioral health. We help you access the services you need in a simple and collaborative manner.

Goals of the Mental Wellness Resource Center are:
  • Up-to-date and adequate information on resource availability
  • Improved awareness and de-stigmatization of behavioral health needs
  • Improved awareness of mental health and substance abuse services and treatment availability
  • Increased suicide awareness and prevention efforts
  • Enhanced community awareness about behavioral health
  • Assistance in finding secure housing and other basic resources

Peer Mentors who understand the systems and are knowledgeable  in local services are available by phone or in-person to assist with accessing desirable services.
