Registering a Business in San Juan County New Mexico

San Juan County (SJC) requires any business that does business in the County, (outside of one of the municipalities or other jurisdictions) register with the County. For instance:

• If you are a business located entirely outside of a municipality, in unincorporated SJC, you need to register.
• If you are a business, like a construction company located in a municipality or other jurisdiction, and offer your services outside that municipality or jurisdiction in SJC, you need to register.
• If you are a business such as a beauty salon or retail store, located in a municipality and offering or providing services strictly at your business location, you do not need to register.

Failure to register your business may result in Code Enforcement action, including citation and fines.
