San Juan County is open for the Film Business!

Welcome Filmmakers!

San Juan County has the locations and talented people to make your next production a success. A number of television and film productions have already used San Juan County for locations, you should be next!

Why Choose San Juan County?

Filming on LocationLandscape and cultural offerings are just two reasons to choose San Juan County for your next production. The beauty of the southwest is unmistakable, the people are both diverse and exciting. When it comes to locations, you can find it all here. Rivers, lakes, forests, deserts, mountain peaks, and painted desert valleys make up just some of the natural beauty, while there are opportunities for agricultural, rural community and town, or even city locations to use. Check out the videos below and see some of what we have to offer.

San Juan County government and local filmmakers are working tirelessly to create an environment to grow and cultivate the film and television industry for this area. The San Juan County Commission voted to make a $1 Million funding request the top priority in the 2019 New Mexico Legislative session. If the request is funded, the money would create a state-of-the-art film studio, fully outfitted, for productions in San Juan County. The people and locations are already here, we just need you!

On January 22, 2019, the San Juan County Commission passed a resolution in support of Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and the New Mexico Legislature establishing an additional 5% tax rebate to productions in under-served parts of the state, including San Juan County.
